Udo's Choice Super 5's Microbiotics raspberry flavoured lozenges contains five bacterial strains including lactobacillus salivarius which helps create a better environment in the mouth, and Xylitol, a sweet alternative to sugar, which is not detrimental to teeth like sugar.

For these strains of bacteria to work, we can’t simply ingest them. They have to come into direct contact with the mouth, teeth, gums and throat. That’s why Super 5 comes in lozenge form. The microbiotics come directly into contact with the mouth, teeth, gums and throat, before being swallowed to reach the gut.

What are Microbiotics?

Microbiotics are the beneficial bacteria that occur throughout the digestive tract. Poor eating habits, chlorinated drinking water, stress and disease and the use of antibiotics in food production as well as in medical treatments can wreak havoc in the gastrointestinal tract by destroying good bacteria and allowing undesirable bacteria to multiply.

Why do we need Microbiotics? When the ratio of good bacteria to bad is lowered, problems begin to arise such as excessive gas, bloating, intestinal toxicity, constipation and poor absorption of nutrients. Whilst it is true that non-beneficial bacteria are naturally occurring in the intestinal tract problems begin when their growth goes unchecked.

A healthy lower intestine should contain at least 85% beneficial bacteria to prevent the over colonisation of disease causing micro organisms like E.coli and Salmonella.

For great oral health we need to ensure we have plenty of beneficial bacteria, Super 5 contains 5 strains including Lactobacillus salivarius which helps create a better environment in the mouth.

Each vegetarian lozenge contains: 2 billion viable cells at the time of manufacture and at least 1 billion viable cells at time of expiry in a base of maltodextrin, xylitol, microcrystalline cellulose, natural raspberry flavour, ascorbic acid, magnesium stearate, citric acid, and silicon dioxide.
